Our Bioblitz is less than a week away and we are finalising our schedule of activities. We are now taking bookings for the evening/early morning events listed below:
(IMPORTANT: these events are not suitable for children under the age of 12)
If you can’t make these walks, there will be the opportunity to sign up for other events throughout Saturday at our gazebo HQ where we’ll have family-friendly wildlife displays and activities for all ages. Just come along on the day. See you then!
FRI 16th AUG
@ 17:30 -19:00: POND DIPPING WITH ROB GANDOLA
Rob is a wildlife consultant and Senior Scientist at the Herpetological Society of Ireland. This walk will investigate and document the life that exists in the waters of Coole.
@ 20:30-22:00: BAT WALK & TORCHLIGHT RIVER EXPLORATION
Also with Rob Gandola and NPWS Conservation Rangers. Learn about the multiple bat species resident in Coole and the importance of insect life to sustain them.
SAT 17th AUG
@ 07:00-08:30: DAWN CHORUS WALK WITH MARGAUX PIERREL
Margaux is a Conservation Ranger with the NPWS. Join us on this dawn walk to listen to the woods awaken with birdsong and learn how to identify bird species.
