Come along to our Bat Walk with a NPWS Conservation Ranger to discover the mysterious world of bats and learn about their nocturnal habits. Hopefully you'll get to hear and see some of these wonderful creatures too! This event is free, but weather dependent. Please come prepared with sturdy footwear, a torch and hi-vis vest for children, and you can park in the main Visitor Centre car park in Coole Park Nature Reserve. Join us for a free guided Tree Walk this Bank Holiday Monday and hear about the history of the plantings here at Coole from Gregory times to the present day. Learn how to identify some of the exotic and native trees growing in the Nature Reserve. Meet at the Visitor Centre at 2.30pm. The walk will take approximately 1.5 hours. Please note that no dogs are permitted on our walks, except guide dogs. We look forward to seeing you!
Join us on a free Guided Nature Walk this Sunday 31st July from 10.30am – 1pm to celebrate World Ranger Day. Learn about the different woodland and wetland habitats within Coole Park Nature Reserve and how they contribute to the rich biodiversity of the Burren lowlands. Group numbers are limited so booking is essential. Please note only guide dogs are permitted on our guided walks, but bear in mind that for this event we will be traversing some rough terrain....
Coole Park Visitor Centre is now open seven days a week from 10am to 5pm. Come along and join a free tour or wander through the exhibition to learn more about the history and nature of the park.
Coole Turlough is currently a carpet of wildflowers of every Hue. Come along for a guided walk with a National Parks & Wildlife Service Guide to discover the wonderful variety of species growing between the woods and the river, from the vivid blue tufted vetch to the pale, rare fen violet. Coole Park Tearooms are now open daily for the season from 10am to 5pm serving a delicious selection of teas, coffees, cakes and light meals. We hope to see you there.
Coole Park Visitor Centre is now open to the public from Wednesdays to Sundays, 10am to 5pm. Free entry - featuring an interpretive display and short film on the history of Lady Gregory, the Coole Park Estate and its literary connections. Free tours are offered twice daily, weather permitting.
